Tips To Prevent Growth Of Mold

Mold cleanup from your home is an overwhelming task, and mold remediation costs can be high when the decay is extensive.

The most effective way to deal with mold problems is to avoid them from happening. Here are some helpful tips for how to prevent mold from occurring:

1) Repair leaks and water damages promptly: It doesn’t matter if it’s an issue with a rusted water pipe. You can take a water damage assessment to keep moisture away from your home in Suffolk County.

2) Dry and clean things quickly: If your basement gets flooded or the condensation from an air conditioner drips on carpets, dry it out 24-48 hours. The mold needs moisture to spread; therefore, quick drying helps eliminate mold growth.

3) Control humidity: Extremely humid conditions can give enough moisture to allow mold growth on certain surfaces. Install a dehumidifier in the basement, and use air conditioning when it is possible in the summer.

You can set up vents for your kitchen or bathroom. This will help keep moisture damage at a minimum and keep the moisture in check.
