5 Advantages Of Mold Detection

Have you ever tested for mold in your home? A mold inspection should be performed regularly to avoid health complications caused by water damage and mold growth. This type of inspection benefits both buyers and sellers when buying or selling a home in NY.

Most mold removal companies in Elmont, NY, offer toxic mold spore detection and mold remediation services. These experts use high-tech tools such as moisture meters, hydro-thermometers, and particle scanners.

Let’s learn about the five main advantages of scheduling a mold detection in Elmont, NY.

1) Improved Air Quality

Scheduling a mold damage inspection is critical for improving household air quality. When mildew spores due to severe water damage become airborne, the air quality in homes deteriorates, exposing residents to the harmful effects of long-term mold growth. Residents only need to inhale spores to enter the nasal passage and make their way to the lungs.

Individuals suffering from allergies are the first ones to notice signs of poor air quality, as their allergy symptoms manifest as soon as they enter your homes.

Hiring a mold detection specialist in Nassau County to inspect your home thoroughly is critical for testing mold presence and air quality. Following the examination, these mold remediation professionals in Elmont, NY, provide homeowners with a detailed report explaining their findings and the recommended actions for a problem.

Furthermore, the mold inspection in NY includes testing for black mold, which is thought to be the most dangerous to family members’ health. Once potential issues are resolved, the air quality will improve, and individuals will experience no health effects.

2) Prevention Of Life-Threatening Diseases

Another advantage of performing regular inspections is that it helps prevent health problems caused by black mold spores. These symptoms could be fatal for people suffering from autoimmune diseases. If not detected and treated promptly, such exposure will likely aggravate your medical conditions.

Mold inspection is also essential in eliminating these symptoms, which can be mild or severe. Skin rashes, sneezing, coughing, and other cold-like symptoms are mild signs of exposure. Breathing problems, asthma complications, respiratory infections, fatigue, and migraine are severe signs.

3) Reduction In The Structural Destruction

One of the remarkable advantages of scheduling a mold inspection in Elmont, NY, is that it reduces the possibility of structural damage.

This type of damage jeopardizes the structural integrity of a home, such as problems with the window seal, window frame, walls, roof, or foundation. When such damage occurs, your home is at high risk of collapsing due to an inability to provide the necessary support.

Furthermore, mold is a fungus that requires moisture and warmth to thrive, so it grows in moist areas such as inside walls or roofs. Failure to clean up the mold of this fungus on time will compromise the structural integrity of your home.

When exposed to severe water damage, wooden structures are especially prone to deterioration. On the other hand, mold cleanup and restoration process teams in Nassau County are trained to spot signs of structural damage, water damage, and mold growth in homes and alert homeowners to take immediate action.

4) Increased Property Value

A mold detection in Elmont, NY, can help homeowners look for new homes and sell their current ones. This fungus lowers the value of a home because it is regarded as a red flag by potential buyers and their lenders. No one would ever take out a mortgage on a house that had a mold infestation.

Therefore, have your home inspected before the arrival of a home inspector. Buyers never skip the home inspection process because it reveals everything they need to know about the property’s condition. When you decide to sell your home, you must contact mold cleanup professionals to address any potential issues before the home inspection.

5) High-Quality Testing Tools

Another benefit of hiring mold detection and water damage assessment professionals in Elmont, NY, is the wide range of testing tools they employ during the examination process.

Our experts use moisture meters, for example, to test walls, floors, and ceilings for moisture damage even when it is not visible on the surface. In addition, the vast majority of inspectors have adopted infrared cameras, which detect molds based on surface temperature.

Furthermore, our mold removal experts rely on hydro-thermometers, which simultaneously measure temperature and humidity. We use particle scanners to detect particles between 2-20 microns to determine the number of particles in the atmosphere.

Inspectors can provide immediate results by using instant swab tests. They take a sample by touching the allegedly moldy surface with the swab. Swab tests reveal whether the surface is musty or not in seconds.

Finally, keep mold at bay in your home to protect everyone’s health. Plan regular mold inspections to avoid significant problems!

Some information about Elmont, NY

Elmont is an unincorporated hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in northwestern Hempstead in Nassau County, New York, United States, along its border with the borough of Queens in New York City. The population was 33,198 at the 2010 census.

In 1650, Christopher and Thomas Foster purchased a large plot of land. The Fosters’ land was controlled by Dutch settlers. The Fosters intended to raise cattle and sheep on their newly settled land, the Hempstead Plains of Long Island. They named this place ‘Foster’s Meadow’—a name which would remain for the next 200 years of the village’s history.

By the mid-17th century, descendants of Sephardic Jews were settling on the Hempstead Plains for agriculture. Control of the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam shifted to England in 1664. This marked the first gradual cultural shift in Foster’s Meadow with the establishment of a community of predominantly English Protestant farmers, and their families. In 1683, Long Island was divided into three counties, Kings, Queens, and Suffolk County. Under this new structure, Foster’s Meadow was originally part of Queens County. During 1790 George Washington passed through the town while touring to the east on Long Island. The current boundaries of Elmont were decided upon in 1898; at this point, Nassau County was created, leading to conflict over land, and monies owed as a result of Elmont’s boundary shift from Queens.

It was during the mid-19th century that Foster’s Meadow experienced its second cultural shift. There was an influx of Roman Catholic and Ashkenazi Jewish farmers from Brooklyn and Middle Village to the west. These ethnic groups were largely of German and Italian descent, practicing both Roman Catholicism and Judaism.
